Cougar Cabinet Food Pantry & Community Resources

In addition to the Cougar Cabinet Food Pantry, the following food resources are available to members of our community. 

• Food-Share Tamaqua Program at the Tamaqua Campus 
• United Way of PA Food Resources can help with food, groceries, or free or low-cost meals; includes SNAP (food stamps/EBT), WIC, food banks, food pantries, and soup kitchens  
• Second Harvest Food Bank Find Food Tool helps with locating local food banks 

• Second Harvest Food Bank SNAP Outreach Program operates a “Food Stamps over the Phone” outreach service 
• The Lehigh Conference of Churches Conference Kitchen operates five days a week serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner 
• Helping Harvest serves families in Berks and Schuylkill Counties 

• United Way of PA Online Emergency Shelter Assistance lets you complete a Homelessness Assessment via phone at 211 or 1-844-246-9911; you can also text your zip code to 898-211 
• Homelessness Assessment Walk-in Site at the Lehigh Conferences of Churches 

LCCC KEYS (Keystone Education Yields Success)
LCCC KEYS is a grant funded educational program that allows qualified students to receive additional services and support while completing their degree at LCCC. These supports may include assistance with books and supplies, childcare, and transportation. To be eligible for the LCCC KEYS program, you must be a SNAP or TANF recipient. If you are not a SNAP or TANF recipient and would like to apply you can do so at Compass. If you are a SNAP or TANF recipient, you should complete and submit the brief questionnaire on the LCCC KEYS program webpage.

Child Care Works Subsidized Child Care Program
Child Care Works Subsidized Child Care Program is designed to enable low-income families to maintain employment while ensuring children receive high quality child care. The Child Care Works (CCW) program is a non-entitlement benefit made available through Federal and State funds.

Community Services for Children
Community Services for Children offers two preschool options Head Start and Pre-K Counts. They also have an Early Head Start program for infants to the age of three years

• PPL On Track lowers fixed monthly payment to income-eligible customers 
• Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare, and more 
• Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) is a temporary assistance program created by the American Rescue Plan Act that can help households in emergency situations maintain essential water access
